#7 Mount Idaho

Mount Idaho, at 12,065 feet above sea level is the seventh highest peak in Idaho and the sixth highest in the Lost River Range. The peak is located in Salmon-Challis National Forest in Custer County

Prominence: 1066′

Total round trip hike distance: 8
Total elevation gain: ~500 feet


Getting there: From Mackay, Idaho, travel north on Highway 93 until for about 16 miles. If you get to the turn off for Sun Valley (Trail Creek Road), you have gone too far. The turn-off to the trailhead is just .35 miles south of Trail Creek Road. Turn right and follow Elkhorn Creek to the end and park.
